Pizza Pizza!

Last night we had our good friends Collin and Joy Winks over to make some pizza and have FHE together. We had lots of fun making our own individual pizzas and hangin' out for the night. Here are a few pictures.

Being Bored = Fun Dinner

Cameron was out of town this past week at a tour of a bunch of hospitals in Utah with the Nursing department. I could have gone, but it really would have been pretty boring for me, not to mention the fact that I still had classes and work here. Anyway, I got super bored each day after I got home from work or school. It was weird not having him here and I didn't know what to do with myself. Luckily I have some great neighbors who let me hang out with them. So, Friday afternoon I decided to set up a nice dinner for when Cameron got back that evening. It was fun to set up a nicer dinner and plan something different. Here are a few pictures of the setup just before Cameron came in. I was pretty proud of myself and Cameron was really surprised.

Grand Pianos

Last week Cameron performed in a show on campus called Grand Pianos Live. It is the second time he has been in it, but this time he played a song called "Chasing Pavements" and my friend Jessica sang. It was a great performance by both of them and they are already busy planning what song they want to do for both of their last semesters this fall. I am looking forward to it.

New Car!

When we were in Las Vegas in April we somehow starting talking to Grandma Carole about our car. It is a great car, but in the past year we have put over $2,000 dollars into it and it has over 170,000 miles on it. So, needless to say it has been around for a while and there is no way we would ever get any money out of it if we tried to sell it so we figure we might as well drive it till it won't go anymore. Anyway, when we were telling Cameron's grandma about the car and how many miles it has on it she made us a proposal.

Basically, she had bought a car not too long ago and she ended up not liking it because it was a two-door, so she asked us if we would want it as an early graduation present. We were like "uh yes!". So this past weekend we made a really quick trip to Great Falls, MT (the car was at her house there).

We left Saturday after I got done with work and it took a little over five hours to get there so we arrived at about midnight or so. The next day we went to the Lewis and Clark museum that they have there. It was really cool. Then when we got back from that we had a huge BBQ with tons of Keith's family. It was fun to meet a lot of new people. I also met a few more of Cameron's relatives who live there. We played the Wii and Wii fit that night as well. Then we left the next day around one. It was another fun and quick trip, and trips are always better when you come back with a new car (:


So here are a couple pictures of us with the new car. It is in great shape and only has about 49,000 miles on it. The inside is like new and is much more spacious than our old car. I will put up more pictures of the car as soon as I take some.


Here we are getting the keys from Grandma Carole. Excuse me looking like I just rolled out of bed or something. This was the morning after we got there and I just threw my hair up real quick and it was raining that day and I totally forgot a sweatshirt so I am wearing one of Camerons in these pictures.

Catching up...

OK, once again it has been a few months since I have been able to update our blog. So I will give a quick recap of what we have been up to since I posted last: We successfully finished another semester leaving us with only two more till graduation, We got to go to Las Vegas for a couple days to visit grandma Carole and have a fun little vacation at the same time, we then went home to Spokane for two days to visit our families and friends headed back here to Rexburg just in time to start a new semester.

So I will start out with our trip to Las Vegas between the semesters. Grandma Carole has a tendency to SPOIL us so much when we go down there so we were able to go to TWO different shows, several nice dinners,and much more! It was so much fun even though it was a relatively quick trip. We got to do so much and see so many things AND spend a lot of time with grandma Carole so overall it was a great trip. Here are some pictures:

Here we are just before going into the Bodies Exhibit. It was SO cool. We highly recommend going if it is ever somewhat near you. This was the second time I had been and the first for Cameron, but we both absolutely loved it and spent a good two hours there.


This is a good introduction to the next set of pictures. This was the night we went to the Stratosphere for dinner. For those of you who have never been there, the Stratosphere is this SUPER tall hotel that looks over all of Las Vegas. At the very top they have a restaurant called the "Top of the World", And anyone who knows me well will know that I LOVE city lights and looking over big cities at night so this just seemed like the PERFECT place to have dinner. This was how the butter was served (in the shape of the Stratosphere)


This is the amazing view of the city from our seats at the restaurant. The whole top rotates so you can't get very good picutres, but is was SO awesome.


I like this picture because it is us with our water, which is funny because the waiter kept asking me if I was old enough to drink and when I would say yes, he would offer me everything they had on the wine menu, it was funny and then the other reason I like this picture is because we are posing with our bill, which was an accident, but a great reminder of how this will be a once-in-a-lifetime event for us because it was WAY over our poor college student budget.... but SO worth every penny for the view.


This is what Cameron ordered. He wanted to be all fancy at the fancy restaurant, so he ordered quail! Yes that is right, the cute little birds in your backyard (: He thought it would come like a chicken breast or something, but instead he was handed this, which kinda caught us off guard, but it was really good.


This picture is really blurry, but again just another one to show how amazing cool the lights were. I was in heaven.



After dinner we went up to the very very top where it is outside and they have a few crazy scary rides. This is the view from outside.

We did so many fun things that it is hard to pick a favorite, but this was definitely up there on our list. Cameron's grandma bought us tickets to see the Cirque Du Soleil show Mystere. It was one of the most amazing things I have EVER seen.


We also were able to go to a Lance Burton Magic show. I was kinda expecting it to be somehwat cheezy, but it was really amazing. I was facinated the whole time. I don't have a picture from that because they were pretty strict about cameras in there, but if you are ever in Vegas you should totally check out that show.

The day we were leaving was the same day that Cameron's grandma golfs each week so we were able to go with her. It was a really nice golf course and was great weather. She bought us a bucket of balls and we hung out on the driving range for a while. It was my first time ever golfing, but it was fun.


We had such awesome trip! Every second was filled with fun things to do and see. We are so lucky to be able to do things like this ( we are especially grateful for grandma Carole who pays for us to do this (: Thanks Grandma!

A Trip to Paris!

Last weekend Cameron and I were very spontaneous when we decided on Friday to book a room at a hotel in Idaho Falls for Saturday night to Sunday. We had been completely stressed out and that week was particularly insane, so if we wanted any chance of making it to the end of the semester, we needed to get away. We heard about this awesome place called Destinations Inn, where each room is themed as a different place around the world. All the rooms looked nice online, but we were afraid it wouldn't be quite as nice when we saw them in person, and we were so wrong. We absolutely loved our stay there and would recommend it to anyone trying to relax. We stayed in the Paris room which we loved, but we also got to see several of the other rooms that were available.

This was pretty cool. We couldn't figure out where the bathroom was in this room(England), but then we found this awesome secret door behind the bookshelf that leads to the bathroom. Very sneaky.


Here's Cameron sitting on the edge of the tub in the Athens room. This room was a close second when choosing which room we wanted to stay in(except now that we have seen all the rooms we want to stay a night in all of them).


Me with my new friend in the Hawaii room. This one was really fun too. Tons of details and little things that made you feel like you were there. Even the floor was made to look like sand.


This room came with a massage table, pretty cool. And Cameron loved all the little water features it had.


This picture is pretty dark, but it is of a big reader board thing in the New York room. There is a mock-up of time square and they will make a personalized light up billboard with your name on it. The song New York, New York was playing over the speakers as we came in.


The rest of these pictures are of the Paris room we stayed in. It was absolutely perfect!


This is the view from our bed. It was up a few stairs on a raised balcony type thing. So this is overlooking the rest of the room. The rooms were huge.


I think this was one of our favorite parts of the room. Each room had this huge projector tv that you just pressed a button and it lowered down from the ceiling. They had a bunch of DVD's for you there, so we watched a movie and some of the Gonzaga basketball game.


This is the "Eiffel Tower Shower" in our room. It is this huge sculpture thing of the Eiffel Tower, but then it has a huge shower head at the top so you can actually use it.


I loved this hotel for all its little extra perks that we kept finding throughout the night. This was great. When we got to the room, they had a chilled bottle of sparkling cider and two pieces of cheesecake waiting for us. It was delicious!


I loved this part too(ok, so we loved all of it). This was our own personal Paris cafe in the corner of the room. We ate our Olive Garden dinner with sparkling cider in the wine glasses they provided for us right here.


Another great perk was the breakfast. At check-in you just tell them what time you want your breakfast and they will bring it to your door at the requested time. They just leave everything on the tray right outside your door so you never even have to see anyone in the morning, awesome. Here was our breakfast platter:


We had a great time here and it was exactly what we needed to re-energize ourselves for the last couple weeks of school.

Winter Semester 2009

Yes, it has really been almost three months since our last post. I have been thinking of something to do to update, but we are in the midst of both of our craziest and busiest semesters before we graduate and therefore we have done nothing but the following since the 1st of January and it will continue this way until April 10th, which is the last day of the semester AND the day we get to hop on a plane to spend the weekend in sunny Las Vegas! I can't wait till that day...

Hillary's life:
I am trying to graduate early(the same semester as Cameron will) SO this semester I decided it would be a great idea to take 21 credits and do my internship at the place I already am working. I spend about 6 or so hours a day in this building:


When I am not in classes, I have a great job that I work at about 27 hours a week, including every Saturday since I moved to Rexburg...wahoo Anyway, here is my peaceful work setting:




Cameron's Life:
Cameron was offered a job as a lab assistant in the Nursing Department and accepted that at the beginning of this semester so he currently has TWO jobs on campus along with working super hard in the hardest semester of the nursing program here. Here is a sample of his first job which is in the school's Health Center where he is a phlebotomist in the lab. He thought it would be dumb to have someone take a picture of him working so this is just an example of what he does and is not actually him:


Here is a sample picture of his second job in the Nursing lab. I was excited to find this picture because this is pretty much exactly how the lab is with the dummies to practice on and everything


I couldn't find a good picture of the building that Cameron spends all of his time, but because it is also the building where the testing center is, he is there MANY hours a day.

On Saturdays Cameron has his clinicals for the nursing program where he works 12-hour shifts at the hospital. Here is Madison Memorial Hospital, where he goes in before the sun comes up and leaves after the sun has gone down. We joke about how he never even knows if it is raining or snowing or is a beautiful sunny day since he is inside the whole day.


You may have noticed that I discussed our lives separately and that is for good reason. After long days of work and school(including every Saturday), we don't get to see each other very often and when we do, this is what we see:





Needless to say we are a little tuckered out by the time we get home and we usually end up just watching an episode of Monk and going to bed.
